A question from a Canuck

I'm new and yet to receive my first sale. Just wondering if most of your sales are from the US? And if US customers would hesitate to buy from a Canadian seller? Fearing hassels with exchange and shipping. I live right at the Canada/US border so I have informed my Us and International customers that I will ship from the US. And I don't charge any difference in shipping to the US than I do for Canadians. Just wondering if I am at a disadvantage because of this? Thanks for any replies they are all very much appreciated! Have a great Sunday : )

Re: A question from a Canuck

Hi there,

So far we having been doing well with Australian and US customers..
We have had only ONE Canadian customer.

Rock on that you are by the border! that is perfect .. a very good advantage we think.

Re: A question from a Canuck

Speaking as a US buyer, I have no problem at all purchasing from shops outside the US. I've ordered from Canada, Thailand, the Netherlands, UK and Australia...never had an issue with customs. Most packages have been small in size and value so that may be part of the reason they haven't been held up in customs.

I am aware that it may take longer due to customs etc. so if it's for a gift or for a specific deadline I keep that in mind when I order.

Don't worry about being a Canadian at all. You've got an advantage being right by the border to ship via USPS.

I've noticed that its not a matter of where you are located but how many items that you have in your shop and how well you are marketing your items.

When I'm shopping I'll not pay attention to where its being shipped from as long as the overall price fits into my budget, unless I need it 'yesterday'.

Thanks for all your replies I do appreciate all of your answers and it gives me some reassurance that it isn't a huge issue. I guess building trust amongst my customers is the main thing no matter where I'm from. Again thank you!
