70 Views only 5 favorites?

Just checking my stats over the past week i see a few of my items have 70-100 views on them but only 5-8 favorites. Does this mean the product is not as good when taking a closer look at it or is it that my descriptions arent doing my products too many favors?

It doesn't really mean anything. I've sold things that have had few views and no favorites and I've had items with thousands of views and a huge number of favorites that are still sitting in my shop.

I don't think it has anything to do with anyone not liking your product, it might just not be what they were looking for. For instance today I have 88 views so far and 8 favorites. Did all those other people not like my invitations? Not necessarily, it might just not have been what they were looking for. Sometimes my views are from key words like "hawaiian" and my hawaiian invitation comes up. They probably weren't even looking for wedding invitations when they searched that word, maybe they just took a peek at it. Take a look at the keywords that brought people to your products. If I searched "Doughnuts" looking for actual doughnuts or recipes, your doughnut soaps would come up. I'm not looking for soap, but I still might take a peek at your listing anyways. That's what I think a lot of it is, people just looking around by accident, then the favorites come from people actually looking for your product or that are thinking about purchasing it in the future (or to use in a treasury!)

i agree with Lori. however I will say this part of your listings, was a little confusing. I had to read it twice to understand it completely. maybe you can have another listing, basically the same pictures and increase the price to be the amount you choose for 5 or 10 bath fizzes. that way the customer can purchase more than one and they don't have to mess around with a convo. you can even leave the link to the multi pack fizzies in the details of the individual one. just an idea.

ahh, I don't worry about all that too much... it feels good to get favorites, but I'm hoping eventually I do get sales!!

I feel a big part of my favorite process is how nicely the item is photographed... which is why etsy puts such a huge emphasis on photography! it really is key. also, I'm sure favorites are also gotten from people who enjoy (insert whatever product here) :p personally, I'm not into bath soaps & stuff... but I'm sure there are a lot of people who are!

I know if I get a whole bunch of views and favorites right away that something is a good fit in terms of titles, tags, description, etc. but I don't stress over much. Like above, I've had items with virtually no views find the right buyer. That being said, I try to make more of what people look at.

I have an item with 82 views and 2 favorites. Most of those views came within the first couple of hours of listing it. I don't really worry about it. The right buyer will come along, whether it's hear or at a future craft fair.

Favorites for me usually run between 5 - 10%. But my sales are really strong. Maybe there's no connection?

That's lucky , how about more favorites then actual views , and realizing they are just sellers themselves!

It means nothing at all, just that you are paying to much attention to your stats and analyzing their result way to much. At least your items are being found. People favorite for a lot of different reasons, none of which have to do with sales, so just ignore it.

I'd rather have one really good view on an item than many favourites.

If its the RIGHT view, the item sells!

Haha! This is a funny thread:) I wondered that myself. But I would take views on your products as a compliment no matter what the favorite tally is because it means the photo was intriguing enough to click on. Keep up the good work!
