6 sales at the firsts month - is that just luck?

hello there everyone.
seems like my situation is a little exceptional.
i started at august 1 this year (completely newbie), created the shop, filled it with a dozen of crappy photo and silly named and tagged listings and rushed for games. at the first week i studied some primitive rules such as normal names and phos (at least).
and after week, at the 7th got the first order, and then another and another... average 1-2 sales for a week (wait a minute, i'm a freakin' baby on etsy!) for the august.
but i started to find that my tags are shitty and my seo is not okay. i have deeply managed all of my listings, made some better photos, putted in order some listings...
and now i think that all my so soon orders were randomly, complete fortuity.
now i'm waiting a week without sales, and my doubts are getting deeper.
does anyone have any idea or a tip for the situation? thank you.

Hi Vova,

Congrats on your sales so far! I think your timing in putting up these items coincided with the back-to-school timing, and backpacks are definitely one of those things many people buy right before school starts in September here in Canada & I believe mid/late August in the U.S.

Your pictures are pretty clear, and maybe you've also had some online features? It's hard for me to speculate aside from the back-to-school timing as I don't have a lot of info specific to your shop, but hope this helps!

Did you stop listing new items? My sales drop when I do that. If you don't have new items to list, you could try renewing some.

oh yes i do. i renew a few items almost every day, sometimes even every hour. and time to time i create new listings.

Same thing has happened to me. Sales were good not no sales.

I am now going over my SEO. But I have notice that there are soooooooo many products online at Etsy, jewelry will be difficult to crack. Any suggestions from fellow Etsy shop owners? I also sell well at jewelry shows so this is a bonus not my main source of income. I want it to work. Thx

the problem is solved and it was:

WRONG LANGUAGE SETTING IN THE SHOP!

it must be english (if your listings, descriptions and tags are in english). this setting only sets when you create the shop. i contacted the etsy support and they switched it manually. but i had to traanslate all the texts.

so. all your seo is useless if the language is not english (even if it is typed in english). be careful with it.

now everything is okay, i am found in the search and i recieve more traffic from the search even than from trending.
