Thanks! I totally agree running an etsy store takes time. I am a fifth grade teacher, mother of two, wife, and raise chickens and angora rabbits. I had always wanted to see things we have made be appreciated by someone else. It is one way I feel that we can make a difference. However, I feel swamped by all the listing, treasury, promoting, blogging, etc. that go along with trying to be successful. This does take time and a lot of it. I hope I will eventually find my groove. Thanks again.

Sounds like more than a few didn't realize the time involved upfront, but happy lots of people (me included) have also found this a positive experience. I also love hearing that it's encouraging for new sellers to read a few "tips from the future" since these were things I wish someone had told me :) Thanks again for your comments.

Hello! I am new here, it seems fantastic... I have read saltcityspice blogpost and I agree with everything, especially the amount of time required to run an online shop! I still consider being in the "beginning phase" of selling online: so much to read, learn and put into practice!

Thanks for sharing. I had the same experience. I set up a couple of years ago and only just starting to use Etsy to full advantage in the few months and you're completely right - it does take ALOT of time. More than you think.

Great blog entry and it does take more time then you might think. It's so important to make friends here too. They've been my back bone on here, it's come to the point where I can't wait to check my Etsy forums!

I agree, on Etsy you put yourself out there and hope for the best! I did business research before starting, but I had trouble making decisions on brand, look etc. Thanks for sharing your advice!

Maintaining an Etsy shop takes way more work than I ever imagined... but, I love doing it and have learned a lot. I literally learn something new every single day!
