Re: Free Shop Critique

While I know this isnt the best time to ask, a critique would be awesome! Have some pics that still need to be redone so that should be finished after Christmas, fingers crossed! Market on FB, pinterest, tumblr, flickr, wanelo, stumbleupon. Trying to get about page done but keep getting kicked off of site, frustrating!!! Any advice/suggestions welcome!!

Re: Free Shop Critique

Hi,

Needs more opinions.

As you can see my shop has a variety of items.
In addition, I make nice trivets.

I'm trying to decide whether to do?
Add them to my shop or continue only with my current products?

I would appreciate your response.

Thanks
Lyne♥

Re: Free Shop Critique

Lyne,
I like your shop and your items :) It doesn't hurt to try & add your trivets, I don't think you have a 100% niche store. I think they would fit in well.

Re: Free Shop Critique

I would love a critique. I have been working on my photos, I know they aren't 100% centered but I'm having trouble getting the right sizes with the 2 pics combined into 1. Are they cute being taken with the other toys or is it too much to look at?

Otherwise I would just love some honest feedback.

Thank you!

Re: Free Shop Critique

Hi! I've been on Etsy since December 2011. I've had eleven sales so far. My shop is a fundraiser for a longer term missions trip. I'll be going to Geneva, Switzerland for three months. Any thing I need to change about my shop etc? What do you think of my photography on my listings, etc? Any advice is welcomed!

I started selling bespoke "luxury-ish" leather hand bags... but i don't know how to promote, i'd like to keep running my store so that get a steady growing number of visitors, and sales, of course ... i think i might be pretty bad at marketing, and promotion.

i need you guy to let me know how... on EVERYTHING.

comment my shop ,my picture display,my price .... anything that could help me, please!!!

Thank you so much in advance

Re: Free Shop Critique

Ascoli - you've got a great concept there! To start with, because you need a starting point to work with ... and this sort of goes for everybody. Pictures and lighting need to be interesting and have (as much as possible) similar brightness to them for uniformity. You can use a photo-editing program to brighten those that are too dark. Backgrounds are important as well. For yours, I'd think of maybe taking pictures at a different angle - more close up, with the purse sitting upright if possible - so you take the shot at it face-on. Then pick a neutral background. If you're not up for doing that, just do the editing or if you need someone I can recommend someone.

Number of items in your shop should be more than a page worth. I know it takes a little leap of faith in yourself and your product for this, but it's worth it. Yes, I realize mine is low right now but I'm restocking and have another shop I'm concentrating most on at the moment.

Also, for a 3rd generalized tip... descriptions. Why is your product going to appeal to the customer? Details about it's creation or condition are great, but also try to make it more personal. What sets your work apart from others? Don't go overboard and make yourself into a diva, but maybe point out how they'll be able to use it and the quality or style points.

These 3 things everyone can and likely should start with. Promotion can happen at the same time, but as you're setting up shop starting off on the right foot will give you a boost up. Hope this helps!

Re: Free Shop Critique

Hello,
I would love some feedback on our shop. They overall look and feel as well as any changes you think may prove helpful.

We have a had a few sales and everyone gives excellent feedback we also get a high number of views from other people on Etsy however very few if any sales. Any ideas looking at our shop for why this may be?

Thank you for your comments

Re: Free Shop Critique

Hi Bethany!

I love your shop banner. It's beautiful and earthy. The shots you did with the mossy rock stand out the most to me. I also haven't seen much done like that on Etsy. I would say keep going in that direction with your photos. It sets your shop apart and makes sense with your brand name.
