One question in the team and every response is spam. Sad.
For what it's worth, here's my approach.
1. Clear bright and in focus photographs. I sell prints, so I also include simulated frames and where appropriate interesting details. I make sure that images I upload are small enough not to be printable without buying them! If you are selling a physical product make sure you include something in a photograph that allows a potential customer to visualise it.
2. Clear and informative descriptions. I see too many descriptions missing vital aspects of the product - even the size. Make sure your description includes everything a potential buyer might want to know. Try to tell a story about the product. For the repro prints I sell, I include information about the subject, the artist or perhaps the original place of publication.
Accuracy is critical. There should be no confusion about what you are selling. In my case for example I make it absolutely clear that what I am selling is a modern reproduction.
3. Good SEO. I can't offer detailed comment on that it is a complex topic. This team is not accepting new members but you may be able to read threads.
