Here is a tip I have just learned

Be sure to use your featured tool!
This puts 4 items that you choose to be listed at the top of your front page!
Use this tool to feature for your best item, your favorite item , or as items that are close to expiring and are usually on my last page.
Be sure to use all 4, otherwise it may make you shop look empty.

I learned from another Etsy shop owner something that I guess is obvious to most but wasn't to me is that renewing an item will bring in new views to the item by people who are searching under what is recent and new to Etsy. So she recommended that you add something new to the shop everyday and if not at least renew an item. Then cost of course is an extra 20 cents to do so, so I like have a goal of actually posting something new.

Also good pictures has made all the difference for my shop. I am not a photographer, but I met a lady across the street that is. And we now barter, her for photography for a few crocheted baby props. And we also advertise for each other. So I highly recommend bartering and teaming up with another small business owner, think about your product and see if there is some one in the area that could do something to compliment what you do. One other person I have thought to team up with is a lady who sells handmade soap locally and I have thought about selling the cotton crochet washcloths and bath puffs, so I have considered seeing if she wanted to team up on some gift baskets we could both sell, not ask yet but its an idea. So those are some examples, next time you are at a craft fair look around and see who you might could help and could also help you.

i don't really have any tips, yet. i am fairly new and don't even have a full page of items, yet, but for future reference, where do i find the featured tool?

Selecting featured items: When you are in view of your list of items that are active in your shop you will see a column where there are stars you can select to feature an item when the star is green, that means it is featured. I hope that makes sense. I not the best at explaining things at times.

I change my first page daily - rotate it to last page. By keeping my shop fresh and interesting it brings people back - I also change my Featured Items but not daily.

Thanks for the featured tool tip! I had no idea.
I constantly change my titles and tags. Then I do detective work and search Etsy and google to see what page my products land on. I've heard people don't search past page 2 so that is my goal! Still working on some items!

I agree with Lorna! Great pictures can make all the difference in the world. You can have a beautiful item and with not enough lighting it may not be appealing to shoppers. I suggest using a lightbox or natural light (which I use). And make sure there is not too much going on in your picture. I have been turned off by way too many props which can take away from the item. *Remember you are showcasing your item to catch buyers eyes.

does changing your titles and tags bring you to the top of search results? i've always wondered...i cant afford to relist so much! lol
