Just a note on some techniques I have learned while doing visual art. Did you know?:
you can use modeling paste on canvases to do a 3-d look...
you can work with clay and make 3-d pieces and shapes etc. to put onto your canvas with modeling past as a glue...
you paint over clay and modeling paste after it has dried, with acrylic paint to seal it. Then oil paint over that as a final layer if you want an oil painting.
You can put jewels and gold leaf on top of oil paint and it acts as adhesive .....
