Best use for Shop Sections

Hello everybody,

I'm very interested in a feedback regarding the shop sections.

I sell jewelry and so far I've been using the sections thematically, so I have a "Geek Chic collection", an "Abstract collection" and so on.

I was wondering if it'd be more appropriate to sort items by genre instead, therefore having a "bracelet" category, a "necklace" category etc.

How do you use your sections? Have you changed the way you sorted your items over time according to how people browsed your shop?

Thanks!
V.

Re: Best use for Shop Sections

Hello Sylvia,

Jewelry is a rather saturated niche, so you need to stand out by creating unique items. Tagging is extremely important for search reasons. As for categories, try to use broader terms to facilitate customers shopping experience. See what Etsy includes on its jewelry gift guide to get an idea...

Geek chic sounds great for the shop but it does not help with search. For example, it would be better if you renamed this category into Geek Bracelets, etc.
