Is it better to list a specific size?

I sell knitted hats, generally for babies but also am willing to make any of my hats in larger sizes too. Most of my listings say "0-6 month size" because that's what I have made but I'm wondering if it's limiting my sales. Anyone have any advice or opinion on if I should not specify a size and just list the hat saying "please specify size needed"? I've had a few people email asking if they can get a larger size and I do say in the listing that other sizes can be made, but I wonder when buyers are searching, are they being turned away because they see the infant size listed?

It couldn't hurt to add that larger sizes are available, to contact you for more info.

I agree with treasure - in fact I've had a couple of people contact me this month asking exactly that question. So now I've updated my listings to ask people to contact me if they want a listing for a larger size.

I wouldn't ask them to purchase and let you know the size though - there's a huge difference in work between and infant and an adult hat and you should price that into your listings.
