Hacker attack on Ravelry

I was just on Ravelry & evidently they were victim to an attack by hackers today.

When you log in there is a page that comes up with all the deets. They are requiring everyone to change their passwords. Hop over & get your password changed if you have an account on Ravelry.

I haven't been on there in a while... I still need to change my password? Ugh... Hackers need to get a real job! What would they get out of hacking into ravelry? :/

Thank you so much for the head's up. I went over there and changed my password. Why do people have to be so evil?

NO kidding!

Casey (CodeMonkey) recommended that if you use the same username/password combination for other sites - you should change those too. The 1st thing they do w/ this info is see if they can get into your accounts on Amazon, eBay, etc. etc. He's so smart! I never would have thought of that.

It's all about the $$$, they will never care about others & will remain greedy, selfish people... We have to reamain on guard 24/7 & stay up-to-date on all things scamming/hacking related... It's exausting! :/

A friend of our family is in IT at a very large national bank. His entire job is to block hackers all day long. There are constant attempts made & he says its almost like a video game shooting back to get rid of them all day. He must have severe migraines!!!
