When you're craving something really good to eat, in my case just now it was chocolate and so you find something that you think is going to satisfy the craving you munch on it happily and then you start to gag because some strangers hair was baked into your brownie and it is now stuck at the back of your throat. GAG, BLECH, Freaking GROSS !!!

I am notorious for bad-food-in-public experiences... don't get me started! I had to stop going out for years because there was never a meal where something gross or dangerous wasn't involved.

Hair in food is the ultimate gross out for me. I'm gagging just thinking about it! And when a long strand travels down your throat and gets stuck there...Oh, Lawd! My eyes are tearing up, I think I'm gonna dry heave. Just grossed myself out typing this...

I think I've been lucky. The kitchens I've worked in (at least 4) were pretty good--clean, no bs going on with the food...

My daughter managed a Chic-fil-A and once asked us what she should do about an employee that stirred the lemonade with his dirty sneaker. So I asked her if she would want to drink it. When she said no, I suggested then that neither would her customers. She poured it all out & informed the owner, employee (her former friend) got fired. Hard lesson in ethics. But, probably happens more than we know!

My husband works in Food Service as does my oldest daughter, they've both told me horror stories.

My oldest daughter works at 2 places, 1 is super anal about their cleanliness, the other place they tease her because of her hygiene standards, whence she now tells everyone not to eat there when she's not working.

My husband told me about a kid that used to pee in the chili at Wendy's, now I don't eat chili or soup anywhere I go.

People are nasty !!

Give me a place where the food is prepared right in front of you and hair nets and plastic gloves are must... well my dears...you are all welcome to eat at my chocolate shop where the people who work for me call me a witch with a b behind my back as I do control how everyone conducts thier hygiene ..caps, gloves and aprons are a must. You are greeted with a smile and treated with the upmost respect. If I find anyone even thinking of messing with the product...thier butt is out the door...but then we are a hands on Mom and Pop shop and I am there keeping track of everyone. Not so easy if it is a large company. Still the idea of a hair just is beyond gross...yuck!!!
