Leaving a trail of bread crumbs...

I had a "duh" moment this morning. I've begun revamping my shop, and this little ditty hit me(I'm guessing most of you have already thought of this, but just in case there's someone still out there like me who hasn't yet)~

So I know we can't post a direct link to our off Etsy websites on our Etsy pages.
There's a two click rule firmly in place: you can post a link to FB(click one) and there they can click on a link to your store(click two).
I don't mind, I totally understand~I'd do it the same way if I were them.

One way to leave a bread crumb trail directly from Etsy to your site, is to update your "Note to Buyer" (where you would say thanks for your purchase)
If it doesn't have links to your off Etsy site~well, update it!
Yes, this only goes to people making purchases from you, but then again-it's a pretty sure bet they actually love your product!

Same goes for Pay pal~there's a message box for every purchase made, you can say thanks and add your stores web site address there.

Hope that helps, but I would love more ideas~keep them coming!

Re: Leaving a trail of bread crumbs...

Thanks for the info. I added my cafepress shop to my check out/purchase message. Figured that one out after opening my shop.

Good idea! I have info on my other ETsy shops in my "note to buyer".

Re: Leaving a trail of bread crumbs...

I found a shop on Etsy who had a note when I paid in PayPal telling me of their other website.

That was a perfectly legal way to do it.
