Re: WELCOME TO ETSY ENTREPRENEURS

Hi I'm Talia and I'm from Brooklyn. I love loud music, my cats, and vectors. My new jewelry line sprouts from my whimsically offbeat drawings which are laser cut from acrylic. Collaged metal chains and unforeseen embellishments bloomed shortly after. Now I'm experimenting with pops of color to offset my typical monotone palette.

I really hope to not only quit my day job, but to create many more for a slew of talented like minded creatives who would like to be a part of popetiquette's milieu.

Re: WELCOME TO ETSY ENTREPRENEURS

Bailey's Bruin's checking in! I live in a small town in the Ozarks of Missouri and have been crafting and sewing all my life basically! I came back to my bearmaking after my husband joined the local volunteer fire department and posted photos on Facebook-well everyone loved them so I started making them to sell here on Etsy! I've always wanted to share my bears with others!
All I really have right now besides Etsy is my facebook page, and I'm working on starting a blog.

Re: WELCOME TO ETSY ENTREPRENEURS

Greetings from Switzerland! For the last two years I've been mentally preparing myself for an online business for things I really love (handmade decor items "with nostalgia", as I like to say, and signed vintage jewellery, mostly from the 40's-50's) and, towards the end of that period, still didn't know whether to launch my own website or go through a marketplace. When a friend from St. Louis, U.S.A., told me about etsy I knew I'd come to the right place!
I'm not on Facebook or on any blogs, out of personal choice, but my friends in Europe, U.S., and Asia are passing on my link to their friends. One of the ways I try to get found in the first place is through my tags, and I make use of the "Rearrange your Shop" button on a regular basis. So my main concern is exposure and merchandise presentation.
The link to my store:

Glad to be part of this team!

Re: WELCOME TO ETSY ENTREPRENEURS

Hi! My name is Kerry. My husband Neil and I are Horse & Hare! We are both artists. Our shop primarily focuses on linocut prints but we also carry paintings and other crafty things from time to time. Last year we also started carrying vintage items but I soon discovered, while the vintage items brought in more customers and exposed our art more, the aesthetic of our photos of the vintage items was not cohesive with our prints so I started a separate shop: www.horseandharevintage.etsy.com

I am really looking forward to getting feedback and tips from this team and hope to grow our business!

We don't have a facebook page yet (on my to do list) but we do have...

a blog: www.thehorseandhare.blogspot.com

...and a website (still a work in progress): http://www.thehorseandhare.com/

We're also on soopsee: http://horseandhare.soopsee.com/

Re: WELCOME TO ETSY ENTREPRENEURS

Hey guys! I just joined this group today. It seems like it's going to be a big help in growing my small business.

My name is Danielle, I'm from New Jersey. I make all sorts of jewelry. I think I have a pretty large range - from necklaces with vintage brooches to more contemporary jewelry with Swarovski crystals. Recently I've been making chainmaille though (I think I've fallen in love with it!). And eventually I want to start metal smithing.

I'm excited to be part of this team and am looking forward to getting to know other people who sell on here!

Re: WELCOME TO ETSY ENTREPRENEURS

My name is Heather I am originally from Chicago. However, I am currently living in Arizona with my husband and 2 beautiful little girls!

I have always been very creative but only made gifts for family and friends. In the last several years I decided to open my first etsy shop www.lullabyloft.etsy and it took off pretty quickly. As I expanded on my creativity I was making things that I didn't really feel fit in my Lullaby Loft shop. So...this last year I opened my second shop www.hippbowsboutique.etsy.com. It has also been fairly successful but I am hoping throught this group to get to be part of a team of people who share a love for being creative and that my shops will get a little more traffic.

Re: WELCOME TO ETSY ENTREPRENEURS

Hey everyone! My name is Nancy and I overuse exclamations when I type haha. I'm a 25 year old lady from Portland, OR. My shop is Things Found Vintage ( http://thingsfound.etsy.com ), which I started 1 year ago YESTERDAY! The time has really been flying, but I need to improve on my endorsement and views.
In my shop I mostly specialize in vintage sewing patterns from the 1940s-70s, but I have been adding on PDF's for millinery, knitting, and sewing booklets. I also carry some vintage clothing, lingerie, and miscellany. Looking to expand in the wearables!

If I could spend some time every day at the beach, I'd be one happy girl. I like to surf, have always been fascinated by the variety and beauty of your everyday, common, beach rock. Sea glass is the icing on the cake.

Re: WELCOME TO ETSY ENTREPRENEURS

Hi,
I started out making lots of Jewelry and called my shop Monas jewelry box, since it was kind of like a concept of a jewelry box spilling over, but I have since stopped making jewelry, and I didn't do too well with the jewelry, but now I have been doing much better with my bags. I make diaper bags and clutches and occasionally other sewing projects as well. I am on unemployment with a child at home, and am working on making my unemployment turn into self employed so that I can stay home with my child and help my husband keep our family thriving.

Re: WELCOME TO ETSY ENTREPRENEURS

Hello all, thanks for having me. My name is Conny, I am born in Germany, but live in beautiful North Carolina. I have been making wire jewelry with gemstones for about 10 years mainly selling through craft shows in the first 5 years. Tried a website and also e-bay selling; nothing really worked. I never thought I could 'afford' to do it full time; and finally finances made me shut down for a few years, but I just can't let it go. So, now I want to give it another shot. Started my shop Oct. 30, 2010. I guess my main problems are photos, getting proper SEO andkeywords, Blogging <pui> :(, and finding "TIME". everything is soooo time consuming. But, anyway, here I am ... to learn and to share. Any critique is definitely welcome. Thanks all ! :)

Re: WELCOME TO ETSY ENTREPRENEURS

Hello everyone :)

My name is Rafhana and I'm 21 and a marketing student in university. I started selling dolls last year in March, so my business is almost a year old. I only started using etsy around November last year and have got 23 sales so far. I know being a marketing student I should know how to increase my sales and pageviews but it's really really hard to do so.

I hope to learn lots of things here and hope this place can motivate me to carry on. At the moment my creative and sewing streak is down :(
