How was your craft party?

We Finland Handcrafters team has just finished our craft party!

It was really fun although we did not exactly drew the crowd we were hoping. The day started out nice and then it rained, so the turn out was affected.

However everyone who came had a good time and expressed that we should have more of these type of events in the future. And our host - a handmade craft shop in the heart of the city - also agreed and are happy to host us again in the future!

So all in all it went well! We have photos on our FB page and more will be added later - https://www.facebook.com/finlandhandcrafters

How did yours go?

Re: How was your craft party?

We had so much fun! Luckily we had no rain. We held the event in my Mom's scrapbooking studio (she is shop owner of Scraps of Bliss), which is indoors but one of the walls opens up. We had a nice big screen up so no bugs, but lovely outdoor breezes!

Your party looks like it was a big success! No wonder our weather was different, since we are in the US :)

These are the only photos I have uploaded so far, I need to edit the photos I took that weren't from my phone still:

Re: How was your craft party?

Team CIJ(Christmas in July) had a virtual craft party via our blog and it was a big hit!
We had so many posts flying among pinterest, facebook, google and such!

It was interesting to learn new crafts and even got me thinking about making new projects myself!!

We still have to find out who won our giveaways, but other then that were mostly done.

We do have a social media blitz still going with things being tagged #craftparty and a lot of us are having a sale using a code til tomorrow or later.

Re: How was your craft party?

Surprise!

Our city [#Guelph, ON] was hosting a fairly big event [The Guelph Multicultural Festival] on the same day & time as our event!

Some photos of what our group of authors, comic illustrators, musicians, and volunteer event planners were doing:

A couple of thousand photos of the event set-up & online pre-event information links: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=pcb.645821585504822&type=1

It was so much fun, we didn't get as many people as anticipated either, only about 1/3 of the RSVPs showed up however it was still a blast. here are my pics: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.720351588032000.1073741861.117384981662000&type=3

Re: How was your craft party?

The first Etsy Craft Party held in Taiwan was a blast! As it was the first gathering for our team and the first time we are holding such an event, the plan was to keep it small and intimate. I was a little worried because local artists don't normally take part in social networking events outside craft fairs, and it is the first time someone is organizing an event to make them do a craft outside their own.

The strategy worked out very nicely in the end. Basically everyone turned up and everyone get to know each other. I asked them to bring their tools and get creative to try their own techniques on their creations. It was a big success.

We also had observers from Singapore and US who visited our workshop and give us their genuine opinion about everyone's crafts.

I wish I could take more photos but was too busy all the time. With the success we will definitely host more gatherings and will plan better for a bigger Etsy Craft Party next year.

Re: How was your craft party?

We had so much fun! I own a brick and mortar shop in the Pike Place Market in Seattle with another Etsy seller: LaRu. We had the best time -- we set three craft projects - an image transfer onto glass using Scotch packing tape, a community embroidery project and the embroidery on vintage photos project.

We did a recap on our blog:

and you can see photos in our Flickr album:

Can't wait until next year!

Re: How was your craft party?

So great to see all of these photos. I have always wanted to attend an Etsy Craft Party and this year I am trying to put one together but am not really sure what I am doing. So seeing all the different size parties and the different decorations is very helpful as I try and get my team motivated. Thanks.

Re: How was your craft party?

here's our modest little party from last year
http://winnipegetsy.blogspot.ca/2014/06/etsy-craft-party_17.html

a small central part of our city hosts a walking festival (happens across multiple blocks and venues in the Exchange district of Winnipeg) every first Friday of the month and we partnered with one of the venues to hold ours
