We are thrilled to share details on our plan for The Etsy Market this year and tell you how your team can get involved! For those of you who might be new to the program, The Etsy Market is a series of virtual shopping events that pop up across different cities around the world. Some events are run by teams of Etsy sellers, directly sharing their creativity with their community. Others are run by us, with the goal of celebrating incredible makers.
Last year, after working with a select group of captains, we launched almost 60 events in time for holiday shopping. The events consisted of a virtual shoppable lookbook for each event, and a virtual event page (example here) with the ability to host video content, feature sellers' products, and drive buyers to participating shops. Since the program wrapped last year, we've gathered valuable feedback from our participating sellers and captains, and took those learnings to help shape our plans for the program this year.
What does The Etsy Market (TEM) look like in 2021?
Teams that are accepted to participate in TEM this year will sign on to host markets during at least 2 of the 3 'moments' listed below. In addition to these 2 markets, you can use the platforms and tools that we provide you with to host markets/events of your own at any time, with Etsy approval. We know that for many of you there are key times throughout the year that your teams traditionally host events, so we want to support you in allowing you to select dates that are most relevant in your own communities.
Etsy Moments: (Note: teams will be required to select a date from at least TWO of the three moments below)
Other things to note:
If you would like to apply to host a market, please read the above requirements in careful detail with your team leaders/co-organizers and let us know if you have any questions.
If you're inspired to host and would like to apply, please use this link to complete the application. A reminder that applications are now open and will close March 9th at 11:59pm EST.
All the best,
The Etsy Market team
