Most of the other threads are focused on collaborating.
Please keep in mind I`m from Australia so I`m in a different time zone to most of you at the moment.
I`m hoping to have lots of Aussie members too, early days yet though.

I`ve heard that a lot of you are having freezing weather(temperatures I can`t even imagine). I haven`t even seen snow(except in pics).
It`s Summer here and hot, hot, hot.

We're experience cold cold weather for Oklahoma. 17 at night 32 day temps. Last night we had freezing rain, then sleet, then snow.........only an inch. But it really made roads hazardous this morning. So glad I don't have to get out and drive in it...........except when I take grandsons to school. But school was out today. ")

Sharon - Are school closures common? Do children miss a lot of school due to closures?

We don't in Oklahoma. But the poor states in the northeast have been hit multiple times with large amounts of snow fall. It's usually ice that causes problems for us. Raining, then freezing causing hazardous roads. Do you get very cold in winter there?

Sharon-Probably not your standards of cold(but cold enough for me).No snow, I live on the East coast of N.S.W.. approx. 2 hours north of Sydney.

Hello everybody. I am in the Caribbean as you can see in my profile. We are in winter but is really nice. Perfect 25 Celsius.
I see there is many of my Argentinian fellows in this group.

I'm in the Northeastern U.S. (Thank you for your sympathies!) Our normal daytime high at this time of year is around 40 F. Instead, we are around 5 F with winds making it feel even colder. After several days, everybody's a little on edge. Maybe a team member from Canada can offer some coping strategies!

I am actually from the US (Memphis, TN) but my father was born in Argenitna.

I came here 3 years ago to get to know the country and any family I had here. I ended up meeting a great guy from Australia, which is insane because there is a very low percentage of expats living here from Oceania.

We are getting married here (in BA) in April!!

Nina - April`s not far away. Are you having a large traditional wedding?

Actually no! Ironically, after writing wedding blogs, creating invitations and save the date, place cards....the works for everyone else's elaborate wedding, we are doing things small! We decided to have a civil wedding in Buenos Aires and a dinner reception afterwards. We felt like we had enough planning to just get our from from the states and Australia and we did not want to complicate things even more.

Although, no matter what, I am happy I got to finally create invites for myself!! haha

What part of Australia does your fiancée come from? I`m from Newcastle, which is about 2 hours drive north of Sydney?

Susan- Mark is from Sydney but he has also lived in Melbourne for a few years. We are trying to move back at the end of the year but it depends on our situation at the time.

Best wishes, Nina, on your wedding day. I also did a small wedding of a ceremony followed by a meal for 40 guests. And aside from designing my own invites, I hired and outsourced most of the creative services. I wanted to remain sane! I hope your day goes splendidly.

I, too, am in Wisconsin and freezing!!! I do love Winter but hate when it gets bitterly cold! We have what are called 'wind chills' so if it is 5 degrees farenheit and a bit windy the 'wind chill' temp will usually be below zero. That is what the air feels like. Right now it is only 7 degrees but it feels like -12 degrees. (Wind chills probably don't need explaining to most of you here but just wanted to be helpful to those who aren't familiar.) Last week a town in Minnesota reached a low temp of 41 degrees below zero without the wind chill factored in!!! Crazy!
Nina, I love your calligraphy!!! I have always wanted to learn it but haven't yet. It is a lot harder than it looks! My daughter got married last year and I did all of the invitations and everything that went along with them. (I wanted to address the envelopes using calligraphy but just wasn't good enough at it.) I have no education in graphic design but had a lot of fun learning! I bought the clip art here on Etsy and they turned out beautifully!

Also, I was wondering if we could perhaps have a thread that lets us post items we are looking for. Such as, I am interested in finding someone who can put my photography on mugs, phone cases, pillows and quite a few other things. That would be very helpful to me.
