Postage in Canada

Yesterday I posted a small envelope with a dog collar in it to Calgary and it cost me $15.00. I was shocked because the week before I sent one to Australia for $9.00. When I look at the postage fees for other dog collar vendors I see postage at $4.00 or $5.00. Is there something I'm missing? Is there some way to send cheaper within Canada? I can't imagine everyone is losing money sending within Canada. Any suggestions?

Re: Postage in Canada

Hi Pam.
No, you are not missing anything. That's how much everybody has to paid at the postal office. If you just buy stamps and add two oversized stamps to the same package the price gets down by a lot. The difference is that there is no real tracking or proof of sending the item to your customer.
I lost money when selling in Canada. Everywhere else is cheaper.
Good luck.

Re: Postage in Canada

Thanks Roxana. I might just try the oversize stamp trick - my items aren't hugely expensive so it's not en enormous risk. Thanks
