Sponsorship Question

I added adsense to my blog but I hear it is pointless. I am wanting to do sponsorships but I have no clue how to go about it. Can anyone give me any info?

How do you collect payment?
How do you set up the ad?

Any info would be appreciated. Thanks all! :)

I don't offer sponsoring but I have sponsored other blogs. In my experience, the sponsor makes the ad in the size that the blogger request. And then they pay the blogger via paypal. Good luck! :]

I'm starting by offering ad space via swaps to help build a following, then I'll begin to charge.

But, just like it was said in above comment ... i've bought ad space from blogs and I simply payed via paypal, after creating the html code of the proper sized button. I emailed the code to her and that was that. :)

Haven't explored that option yet, just doing button swaps until I have a good solid fan base. Anyone interested convo me.

If you have 30 quality posts, I'd recommend submitting your blog as a Project Wonderful publisher to get your feet wet in the advertising world. That way you'll have a built in audience of bidders. And once you reach $10, they'll pay you though Paypal so you only have to collect from one source. Here's my introduction post to PW ~

I have my own Ad section set up on my blog,I have a "Promotional Information" page where they can check out Prices,Run times,Ad placement options,ect I have them send me a 125 x 125 Ad or moving GIF to place on either side of my blog [They choose its different prices] then they will send you payment through Paypal. I keep track of how long their ad stays up in a note book with all of my blogging info in it.

Another question, how do I know how well the ads work so I can see how much to charge...or does it go by your followers?

I am thinking of having it for free for a month to see what happens.

I started my sponsor spots at $5/month and that includes an introduction post which will boost their SEO even after their ad is over. Advertisers care more about traffic than followers - so post your stats openly on your sponsorship page. Here's mine as an example ~
