Post the first paragraph of your newest blog

Another way to promote your blog in this team would be to post (copy and paste) the first paragraph of your most recent blog here. It will be fun to read the "intro" so to speak and also give blog readers a glimpse along with your blog link. I love reading the blogs from our team members and have most of them in my que to see on a daily basis ~ but not everyone has had the opportunity to build a daily que. Have fun!

Re: Post the first paragraph of your newest blog

I'll go first because I get up before God and have already posted my Monday blog.

I believe that every housewife needs her own money. There are several ways to accomplish that: pilfer the grocery money; sell a product to family and friends such as Avon; or expand your passion to an online store. The reason I believe this is so important is we all need just that small amount of spending money that is totally ours to do with as we want. Many of my personal and Cyber friends have Etsy and other like-venue stores. I have a store on Etsy and Artfire.

My blog: http://inspringbecomestherose.blogspot.com/

Well, here goes! Feels a bit like talking to myself really. Haha. First, the blog title. The title is taken from "The Rose" - a song done by several different artsist, but I have to recommend the Conway Twitty version. Take a listen! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cO59ITNCxzk. Or not. Now, you may not think you'd like Conway, but I encourage you to try him on. If you like dusty, old heartwrenching music, you'll like this. :D But hey, in no way is this a blog about Conway Twitty! Hah. So, what is it about? Hrmm. Well, it's about my life and my family (which IS my life). And it's about the things I see and do and make and find. That pretty much encompases it. :D

my blog: http://blog.whereapy.com

My friend Jaime was the photographer for the Whereapy shoot. As she was working she mentioned that she'd been getting bodywork for years and mentioned she needs and enjoys it… yet she feels something is missing. And what's missing is something she can't ask for.

She has a sore butt.

Bajan Blue

Somewhere between ink and the drama of rolling skies.

Colors can be loaded with memories and emotions, just as with smells or sounds. Last night I had looked up at the sky, in all its inkiness baring down on life and remembered how I had felt the last time that hue of blue had passed me by. How I had decided to walk away.

Re: Post the first paragraph of your newest blog

Here's my latest:

Well, if you remember when I made my 30 before 30 list, I'm sure you think I'm quite the slacker! Nothing completed after a whole month! But, you'd be wrong, you see. Because I completed one of the activites last month. I'm only just now getting around to posting about it...

Re: Post the first paragraph of your newest blog

Here goes:

My mother is on her annual girl's sabbatical to Scotland... three weeks with her best girlfriends staying in a castle with nothing more serious on the agenda than eating, socializing and antiquing. Her dear friend, June, just so happens to live in that castle which once required them to go antiquing for something like 28 dining room chairs and a table to fit them. I don't think I could fit 28 chairs in my entire house, but I digress. My mom wrote to me yesterday (via facebook, she is a hip and high-tech grandma) that she and her sweet friends have been shopping around the hills of Scotland for ME... or more specifically for vintage things to list in my etsy store, Orangie's Attic. Can we get a WOO HOO?!?!

Re: Post the first paragraph of your newest blog

Here's todays:

http://blog.whereapy.com

Have you ever wanted to go up to someone splashing themselves with pure sweet orange essential oil at the WholeFoods and say, "Doh, you're doing it wrong! You're gonna get a rash!"

Yes? Well, you must have some aromatherapy training then.

As frustrating as it is for therapists, your customers could give a flying f*ck about essential oil education at first glance -- until something unpleasant and unexpected happens.

The questions is, how do you command attention when it seems everything on the shelves today screams, "Buy me! I"m natural!"

Re: Post the first paragraph of your newest blog

I've been feeling a bit guilty about dogging on Valentine's Day. {here} See, it's not that I hate Valentine's Day itself. I just hate how much pressure is associated with it. I mean, it's a day all about love, what's not to um...love? I just think alot of people, especially women get too wrapped up in it being perfect. Or maybe it's that inevitably you feel inadequate because of the hype.

Re: Post the first paragraph of your newest blog

As I was making coffee this morning it occurred to me that there are things in my life I can live with and without. As life and needs change the list also changes. I thought I would document first what I can't live without and then what life has taught me I can live without.

Re: Post the first paragraph of your newest blog

I never thought I would be able to say this, and this is truly a "bucket list" experience - I'm going to be in the audience of an Oprah show next week! However... that isn't even the best part. I am a huge Celine Dion fan, and next week Oprah is taping an episode with... you guessed it... Celine! My friend Heidi, another huge fan, has been invited to attend the taping and is bringing me along as her guest. As I type this, it sounds more like I'm recounting a dream than actual reality...
