How much time do spend on your blog?

Do you actively link build? Do you try to move up in search engine ranking - or is that not a concern for you?

What do you want your blog to do for you - direct traffic to your business? let people know more about you than the Etsy profile can offer? start/grow a community? Do you want to sell advertising?
Curious to know your thoughts and get a collective look at why and how Etsy bloggers blog.

I spend as much time as possible on my blog. I'm not sure how to get my blog to move up in search engine rankings but I do use a lot of key words and phrases in my titles, tags and content so those looking for that information will hopefully find it.

I get a lot of traffic to my main shop from my blog so it's a huge marketing tool for me. It also allows me to share my creative side, lets others get to know a little more about me, and I have fun doing it. And I get to "meet" a lot of other creative people in the process. Lately I've started adding free printables I've created to my blog and tonight I'm going to photo my boyfriend making me dinner - seared ahi tuna with a soy-ginger - sauce that I'll be posting to my blog later with the recipe! I'm hoping to get more and more creative and fun with my blog this year.

My blog is also a great platform for sharing new products - and their process, as well as hosting contests and offering coupon codes.

I love my blog and I love working on it. I never gave much as to how many hours I work on it a week but I would say a couple. I am not interested in selling ad space on my blog. I just like to post what I enjoy whether it's shop-related or some personal fluff. I like to meet and engage with other bloggers.

Don't spend as much time as I should, or would like to! In the case of the latter, that would be all day....but I have a disabled husband to care for, so time is limited! It's a great release though.

-- YES!

I do offer Project Wonderful ad spots but that was just to offset the cost of advertising on Project Wonderful myself. It's not a real source of revenue nor is it intended to be.

I try to share some insight to the inspiration behind new product listings or a little of the process of making them.

This year, I will even try to sell things on my blog directly.

I don't spend much time on it. Maybe 10 hours a month. My goal is a minimum of 52 posts a year and not on a particular schedule. (I also post the treasuries for another team on their team blog. I spend about 4-5 hours a month at that.)

I spend a lot my free time blogging and commenting on other blogs, usually at least 2 hours a day. It started out as a way to advertise my own art, but now that I've branched out to promoting other handmade artists ... I'm making more money through Project Wonderful advertisements ( http://blog.aquariann.com/2010/05/its-project-wonderful-life.html ) on my blog than selling my art. Which isn't much, but I adore doing both so I'll keep striving to share my whimsical drawings and ramblings with the world.
