Google Friend Connect going away?

Have any of you also heard this. I read that its going away for non-blogger-based blogs.

Really? So will there still be an app? My blogger profile now goes to my google+ page.

I think it is going away for everyone but I'm not entirely sure. I also heard G+ is incorporating it.

it is one of many programs that Google is eliminating. They do this every year, on their less successful ideas. G+ should absorb most of the technology, but unfortunately, if a product is not as successful as planned it often goes away. That was the case for friend connect.

Oh no - that is not good. Is there a place that has more information on this? I would like to figure out another way for followers if I am going to loose mine.

It is hard on Wordpress because people dont always like to follow via RSS feed but that is really all that there is.

I've already gotten rid of Google Connect..no point in waiting until it's gone to figure out what to do =/

For my wordpress site I'm now using BlogLovin' which seems pretty good! They offer an Android and iPhone app so you can read your favourite blogs from anywhere too. :)

I just know we will all probably lose people in trying to convince them to move over to another form of following. UGH!
