Google Connect, RSS and Followers

Hello Fellow Bloggers,
I recently started my blog and I have a newbie question about how to obtain followers (please excuse my ignorance)....Can someone explain the difference between a Google Connect and RSS subscriber? What are some strategies you have for getting followers for your blog? Thanks so much!

I am not very good at marketing/ strategies, but the best way I found when starting out was just to try and post regularly and sharing it here on the forum (also my facebook but I don't find much traffic from there to be honest).

I'm not sure about the difference between the two. But to get followers I joined a blogging team. Just follow other people and they will follow you back. If you post your blog here I can follow you. Here is mine
