The team blog and my own blog both have custom domains (meaning, not .blogspot.com). Last month, the team blog featured an article about the importance of having your own domain (and getting one as soon as possible) and I was wondering how many of you have a custom domain?

From the team blog: http://www.etsyblogteam.com/2011/02/importance-of-having-domain-name-for.html

If you have one, what is it? If not, why not?

Re: Do you have you own domain?

@fairy card maker

Maybe just put your first name? Like, Mary@fairycardmaker.com? That way it seems personal AND professional!

Re: Do you have you own domain?

yes, I just got a domain for my blog, but blogspot still hosts it. :) I'm constantly editing it and trying to make it more professional (don't know much about website stuff), so any tips would be great! :)

Re: Do you have you own domain?

I'm in the same boat as JulieAnnA: I have my url (http://www.SweeterThanSweets.com) but it just redirects to my Etsy shop. It was $6 for the first year, $10 thereafter per year to do it this way (using http://www.1and1.com). I like doing it that way because it looks more professional on my business cards. I might one day get a domain name for my blog, too... but that's another issue (I couldn't get the same url for my blog as my store name, so it's http://HowSweeterItIs.blogspot.com).
