Hi, Bloggers!
I am looking for up to four regular monthly contributors for my blog, Hideous! Dreadful! Stinky! to write craft and sewing tutorials.
http://www.hideousdreadfulstinky.com/These bloggers will cover a variety of craft topics and will have a style and voice consistent with the Hideous! Dreadful! Stinky! brand. Think modern, pretty, playful and clever! With lots of exclamation points!
About the job
- You will contribute one (maybe two) tutorials each month. Tutorials will be original content, written by you with step-by-step photos. Topics will range across all arts & crafts: sewing, felting, knit & crochet, papercraft, jewelry making, etc. etc. etc.! Crafting for and with kids is a big focus, but I love any practical project with a fun twist.
- You retain ownership of all posts and photos, but agree that tutorials will not appear in their entirety anywhere else online (we will discuss and agree upon parameters of licensing before you start).
- We will work together to establish an editorial calendar and publication dates.
- Most topics will be your ideas, although I may reach out to you with suggestions, general themes and the occasional sponsored post.
About you
- You are an avid maker. You have a few mediums that you're really good at, but you have knowledge and experience in a wide variety of handmade arts and crafts.
- You have at least 1 year of craft blogging experience.
- You're smart, creative and naturally funny. You keep an eye on trends, especially in the handmade community, but you're good at pushing beyond those trends to create something original.
- You are reliable and able to stick to an editorial calendar. You're willing to take art direction and editorial cues when asked.
- Your writing style is casual, friendly, and conversational.
- You take beautiful photos.
- You're comfortable with basic HTML.
Compensation
- This is a contract, work-from-home, paid-per-post position.
- $50 per tutorial, invoiced and paid monthly.
