Blogger Template Question

I really want to change my template, but I'm terrified I will lose everything.

Has anyone successfully done this on their blog?

Usually you won't lose anything.
I've done that before. But you can save your blog and if things go wrong, go back to it.
Do you intend to change to another template already available on Blogger or to another one from a third party ?
What about the one that you're using now, is it a Blogger default one ?
I guess that the main issue is not so much about losing articles but about losing widgets or other HTML elements ?

I changed my template all the time, though I think I'm finally happy with the one I've modified. During March, I think I changed the template at least 4 times and the colors more than that. I was just trying to hit that sweet spot!

I am going to use one available on blogger. I'll save my old one first. I was worried about the widgets but if I save it first that will put me at ease.
