Hey Fellow bloggers! I want this thread to be a compilation of our best blog promotion ideas! If you are already a super star promoter, post here! Even if you can't quite figure out the best thing for your type of blog, share what you have been trying out!

Here are my favorites:

1. Commenting on others blogs (You like comments, right? Share the wealth!)

2. Giving away a free thing on your blog (here is my free thing for bloggers! http://wildpaperflowers.blogspot.com/p/link-love.html)

3. Taking out ads on other blogs (You want sponsors? Be a sponsor first!) (PS It's free on my blog right now! More info --> http://wildpaperflowers.blogspot.com/p/friends.html)

4. Posting tips and tricks of the trade in awesome forums like this one! Hey!

5. Twitter/Facebook! (Self-Explanatory!) side note, this gets me lots of views, almost never followers or comments... boo.

I have to say my LEAST favorite form of promotion is "Follow me & I will follow back."

I understand that this is an easy method, but personally, I do not want to promise that I will follow back ever single person that follows me. I like to follow blogs that have relevant and interesting content, content that I actually want to read and comment on. I appreciate every follower I have, and I do look at almost every single follower, but am I obligated to follow their blog too, even at the expensive of my already over-crowded blogger feed?

How do you feel about this? I would love to hear other opinions!

I don't mind being "invited" to follow a blog, but I despise the idea that I "should" follow someone just because they followed me! I only want people to follow me if they want to, because if they follow out of obligation, they're never going to actually read my blog!

I agree with AssortedMiscellany--- You can only follow 300 on blogspot.. I want to follow the ones who are following me and the ones that I actually like their blogs. Recently I was going over my limit and had to spend a good portion of my day seeing who was following me and who was not and delete those... so I had room to follow more.

I used to have a monthly giveaways on my blog of my prints.... may bring it back... brings a lot of traffic to my blog

I post my newest art and that is also auto posted to my twitter and facebook pages

posting my new art on my blog also brings traffic directly to my etsy shop

I occasionally feature other etsy artists and great etsy finds (especially for holidays)

I get a lot of traffic from stumble upon and google searches. Also I add my posts to craftgawker and isharecrafts and see a lot of traffic from those.

I have seen a few hits from flickr and pinterest.

I also run giveaways and comment on other blogs.
