I am used to doing local markets and do pretty well with them. Love the one on one with customers. A lot of what I do is to inform customers about ingredients, there uses and benefits and the sale almost always follow. I believe informed customers come back. How can I transfer that knowledge and excitement I have at the local markets to my Etsy store?
I have been struggling with getting my shop seen here on ETSY. I am actively working on improving my shop and product line. I would also love to do short videos. The problem with that is that my shop is a 14-foot cargo trailer because I live in an RV. It is fine for a workspace but not sure how it would work for videos and the only camera I have presently is my phone.
The 3rd part of the problem has been I have had a zero income for a long time. I have just gone on disability so I do have a bit to work with but still pretty limited on funds. I really want to make this work. Love the Etsy community and having the ability to talk to an actual human being when there's a problem is awesome, just haven't figured out all the do's and don't of getting ranked higher(or at all) in the listings. My stats are almost none existent.
Presently have a number of my products in a local shop and hope to have a few classes there as well. I am also in the process of getting permission to start contacting local media to get the store and its vendors noticed, it's a little hole in the wall place that if you don't know it there, you probably won't know its there. I get very excited about things I am passionate about. How do I make that work for me on Etsy? Of course, if and when I start contacting local media my Etsy shop will be mentioned.
I do not mind and in fact, invite constructive criticism.
Hi I'm kinda new at this but stopped by your shop, because Online is all about visual presentation good photo's are a must, and staging, white background also. You can do this on the cheap perhaps put your items somewhere in your living space that has good light and you even white cardboard as the background. Then when you have a few more funds you can upgrade. Just a thought.

I’ve been using an app to enhance the photos I post of our product as realized that they were it presented in the best light or presentation. It is time consuming but looks like it is producing more traffic. Is anyone else doing this and any suggestions or critiquing would be helpful. Also trying very hard to find time to add 1 or 2 new items each day but also time consuming. I have a ton of my husbands pens and bottle stoppers not posted yet.... also - it seems like his his products get more searches than mine, making me think i’m Using the wrong tags for my jewelry???
Trying new tags may be a good idea!
Your items look really beautifully! And the photos look very well, too. They are clear and your items are well presented. But there are a few which are not very clear. For example this: https://www.etsy.com/nz/listing/185647550/very-unique-cream-swirled-slimline-pen?ref=shop_home_activ.... The background here is too prominant and the main object gets lost.
Just a quick note to say Thank You fir your critique! You are right on the pen... it has been put on my “to do” list to correct. It helps so much when someone is able to give a fresh look
thanks again and happy selling :)
New Greeting card, this one has received a lot of engagement so far, so thought to post it here too. would love your thoughts...
Valentine's or Galentine's?
