Introductions

I was going to use the "welcome" thread but I figured we needed a clearly marked thread for Intros...mine is under "Welcome" though :)

Re: Introductions

Hi, my name is Leslie. I love to knit and crochet and I decided that maybe I could sell some of my items for extra cash. I'm fairly new to Etsy and I'm starting off slow. Thanks for the invite and I'm looking forward to meeting other crafters!

I am an accountant specializing in small business financials and taxes, but love crafting, especially crochet and sewing. I will list up-cycled and recycled items as soon as I make some inventory. Re: Introductions

my name is sarah. erie born and raised - although i did leave temporarily for college, i returned to marry and settled in to raise my family.
my grandma started teaching me to knit when i was pregnant with my first child. it took a bit, but i finally got the knack and i'm addicted. i also love to sew. the shop is more hobby and an excuse to make stuff, then business. but has the potential to become more serious when my children are older - and refuse to wear the things mommy makes.
thanks for the invite to the team! it will be fun to be part of a truly local team!

Re: Introductions

Hello! My name is Abbie, I am 26, and I live in Conneautville, PA. I moved here from Kent, Ohio nearly two years ago when I married my husband E.J. I've always been crafty, and love to sew, but once I got married LEGO bricks took over as my medium of choice. E.J. has collected them for years and I couldn't help but play with them. We made an agreement before we got married that I had 3 years to try working from home before we had an evaluation. I'm almost through year 2, and it's been going quite well! I sell on Ebay as well as Etsy.

Outside of crafting I love the outdoors, and play String Bass in the Cleveland Philharmonic Orchestra.

Happy Crafting!

Re: Introductions

Hi! My name is Ginny. I grew up in Corry, but loved in SC for several years after college. Relocated back to Erie in 08. I am a critical care RN, but do not work full time anymore because of bad knees. So, I am again doing crafts-primarily crocheting jewelry using wire, crochet cotton and beads-and looking forward to sharing the craft experience with my new, as well as old, friends. Maybe even make some money with crafts :)

I'm Samantha. Born and raised in Erie. Lived in Lancaster while I attended college and now I'm back temporarily. No matter where my career takes me, Erie will always be home. This account of mine had my watercolor/marker pieces and I'm hoping to add more to it soon. I have another shop that I link to in my profile for vintage fun and craft supplies.

Re: Introductions

Hi, I'm Jess. I've lived in Erie most of my life. I guess the place grows on you :-) I LOVE to sew, mostly historical clothing. My current Etsy shop has more modern things in it, such as bags and fabric jewelry, but I am planning to start up a second shop to use as my primary website for my costumes. I feel I have a lot to learn when it comes to using etsy, namely learning how to take better pictures, write more interesting descriptions, and make use of all the little options and apps on the site.

I am looking forward to being a part of this team and helping each other grow our businesses.

Best Wishes,

Hi, I'm Gretchen. I am originally from North Dakota. I moved to North Carolina for a teaching job and met my fiance there. He is originally from Erie. We moved to Erie 2 years ago. I make jewelry of all kinds. I started on etsy about 2 years ago but haven't had too much success yet. I do a wide variety of styles of necklaces, earrings, braclets, and rings. My personal collection is larger than my collection to sell :)

Re: Introductions

Hi, I'm Joel and I didn't come across this group until recently. When I first signed up for Etsy, I looked for an Erie group but couldn't find one, so I am happy to have come across it now! I graduated from Penn State University with my BFA in Drawing/Painting and am now back in Erie trying to get my work out there in front of people! I have recently been working on making prints of my artwork and creating original paintings. I currently have my first Solo Art Show at the Urraro Gallery in Erie right now and it runs until Oct 8th! The Urarro Gallery is between Peach and Sassafrass on 12th st right next to the McDonald's. Please go check it out and let me know what you think! :) the show is titled "The Southpaw Curse".

Re: Introductions

Greetings from Titusville, PA! We are Kent's Krafts, aka Kent and Traci.
We started here back in July and have seen occasional jumps in our woodcrafting business. We're not disappointed in the least with our decision to join ETSY. Shortly, we will be adding other items to our venue, such as landscape and nature photos, jewelry, and much more! We are thrilled to meet everyone here and wish everyone the best of luck!

Re: Introductions

Hi, My name is Trissa. My hometown is Washington, pa. I live in Erie. I work at UPMC Hamot as a RN cardiovascular disease educator. I love making jewelry, knitting, and anything crafty. I have two girls, ages 3 and 8. I have had an Etsy shop for almost a year, but haven't sold any items yet. So, if anybody has any selling tips, that would be great. Rockhounding is my passion, and I would love to incorporate it into my jewelry making. Hoping to make some friends that share the same interests!

Re: Introductions

Hi, My name is Dawn and I live within 40 miles of Erie. I love to quilt and sew. I have a purse and bag obsession, so I started making my own. I've been making diaper bags for my grand children and started making them to sell. One of my sons is in the Army, so I also make camo items. I've just started trying to join some communities on here in hopes to show more people what we do here. I LOVE this website!

Re: Introductions

Hello everyone, from wild & wonderful Waterford, PA! I just today found that our little corner of the world has an etsy team. Just wondering if you'll have another team member...

I joined in August of 2011and have 10 sales so far. I like where things are headed but am always open to suggestions. I make handmade signs, many sports related. (I have some Steeler signs for those of you who follow the Black & Gold. Being a Browns fan, it was odd making them!) Losts of Penn State stuff too. Stop by my shop and let me know what you think! Do any of you think a Presque Isle sign might be of interest to anyone?

Re: Introductions

Hi, I'm Heather :) I am moving to Erie at the end of this month, from California, to live near my grandmother. I love to paint (my etsy shop is scarce right now - hoping to change that after the move), and illustrate (just illustrated a children's book last year, Treasure Hunt in the Enchanted Forest).

Anyways, I thought it would be cool to meet some other crafty people in Erie, and maybe meet up and be friends! Is anyone up for that? I'll be living in Southwest Erie.

Heather
