Introduce yourself !

Well, I feel like I should start and give the exemple, so... Hello !
I'm an 22 years old illustration student living in France, and pixel art is one of my favourite ways of expression ; I'm very inspired by the old video games designs, of course, but also vintage canevas and tapestries . I love the idea of composing an image beginning by the last common multiple.

I created this group because I have the feeling that we are many people on etsy using these medias, and I wish we can meet each other, inspire each other and, who knows ? Collaborate with each other some day =D !

Please forgive my bad english !

Re: Introduce yourself !

Hi, everyone. What a great idea for a group, Hannah! I've been creating puzzles using a grid since 2008 and have published 4 books (so far) of these colored puzzles. I've also done a few pixel portraits puzzles, which I LOVE making! My puzzles sound like they would go well (in either direction) with your cross stitch, Meagan. :)

Hi. I am Crystal. A good section of my shop ( and most popular) is my cross stitch bookmarks. Each Pattern I made myself, ( except 2 I changed a bit from a book) I like the challenge of making the pattern and having it look like the person/ image when I stitch it up :)

Re: Introduce yourself !

Hi, I'm Hope. My husband creates the 8 bit designs, I stamp them on journals and cut and fold the cards. I hang out with him while he creates the work, bit by bit, on the computer. Sometimes I'll ask him to make me something that is 8 bit. We love pixel art:)

Re: Introduce yourself !

My name is Rebecca and I got my BFA in illustration, work as a freelance designer while I'm a stay at home mom for my toddler, and I just launched a shop to sell my cross stitches.

I went through a phase for about a year where I was doing more abstract patterns, but I've gotten back into wanting to do more pixelated images. So I'm hoping to start shifting the type of stock I have.

Re: Introduce yourself !

Hi everyone,

I am a self-taught artist who enjoys my craft of stippling - ink on paper... Thousands of tiny dots and lines make up my drawings to make up this realistic effect. I consider my artwork to fit in the genre of photorealism... I love to turn a photo into a piece of art. Here is a link to my website - www.celebrityartist.me. Please check it out and see if you recognize any of the faces you see.

Professionally, I was a designer/builder of fine homes for years. However, I would like to now focus on my passion of art and hope to slowly (or soon!) make it my full-time career. My store on Etsy is newly opened. Here is a link to one of my pieces.

Re: Introduce yourself !

Hey guys!

Another bead sprite artist, but not just ;) I'm from Chicago, IL, USA, and I specialize in wearable, 3D, custom, and layered pieces. I do offer smaller 2D pieces as well, but my passion is in the harder stuff ;)

My profile picture is a completed example of the intricacy of the pieces I make (autographed by the original artist, Alex Ross. If you're not a comic nerd, you can google him). I'm currently featured at 3 comic shops and hope to do more comic cons in the future.

I'm glad to finally find a decent (active) pixel team and look forward to promoting you guys to the fullest!

Re: Introduce yourself !

I am Kyle Pilsworth. 21 pixel art enthusiast. I have a background in interactive media and have an understanding of many artistic methods and creative processes but out of all the things I learned I sill kept pixel art close to my heart.

I am a fan of all kinds of sprites and pixel art styles but I often find myself falling towards the classic Atari style but I am currently practicing a more detailed style.

My craft of choice is hama and perler bead crafts because I can take my own designs and make them into stylish physical objects to place around the house, share with friends and even sell.

My main inspirations lie within 80s and 90s gaming, modern digital art and may aspects of pop culture.

Re: Introduce yourself !

Hello all. I am actually a potter and gourd artist, but kinda fell into Perler beading this summer when my 7 year old son wanted to try to make a Yoshi. From there, I began creating my own designs. I've decided to throw a few of my creations up on Etsy to see how they do.

Professionally, I am a high school art teacher. Please check out my pixel creations and let me know what you think. I'm totally new to the pixel world and am just realizing how encompassing it is.

Re: Introduce yourself !

Hello!

I'm Rebecca and I'm a knitter, translating perler bead patterns and pixel art into knitting patterns. I've been knitting for about 10 years now but only got serious about building an Etsy shop when I made a whole bunch of gifts for friends this year.

Professionally I'm a programer, which is kinda completely out there compared to the things I do in my free time but it's actually a nice balance.

Please check out my shop and let me know what you think. I'm still working on buildings designs and figuring out what translates well from the pixel world to the world of yarn.

Re: Introduce yourself !

Hi everyone, I'm Craig from Bolton in the UK.

I have always loved the 8 bit aesthetic of classic video games, i grew up making images on Deluxe Paint on the Amiga 500, and always hated that in the PC boom of the 90s there was no pixel art paint program like it.

Then with the release of Wreck It Ralph last year I thought it would be fun to try painting some of the characters on canvas. After many attempts on graph paper I finally got my style down and our lounge is now filled with a variety of pixel characters.

After being told that I should consider selling them for a while now, I thought what the heck and have put a few up here.

I would love it if you would check out some of my work, its mainly disney at the moment but I will be putting some Marvel Characters in the next week or so.

Cheers,
Craig

Re: Introduce yourself !

Hi all, we are Amanda and Terri and are a daughter/mother team. Both of us are bead sprite enthusiasts. Amanda (daughter) prefers the classic 8 bit look while Terri (mom) likes the more complex stuff. Oh, and our cat loves any container of beads that can be knocked over and flung to the far corners of the room!

Re: Introduce yourself !

Hey everyone,
I'm Bijoy (pronounced Beejoy) and I'm an 18 year old student living in Reading, England. I've been drawing for quite a while and started doing dotwork pen drawings in order to achieve a more professional finish and look to my drawings. A month or so ago I decided to open up a little etsy store and see how it went. I really like the original creativity on etsy and I really like the handmade aspect of it. Nice to meet everyone, have a look at my shop and see if you like anything, I offer international shipping :)
