So how are your sales doing, dollmakers? I haven't sold a doll since December and I'm getting really discouraged. I get compliments on my dolls, but no sales. This is such a niche market, how do all of you stay motivated? I have a couple of art fairs that I'll try this summer, and if they don't go well then I think I might get out of dolls. There are so many great dollmakers out there, maybe mine just aren't good enough, or I'm not doing the right things to market them. I don't know. I've been working hard on my facebook page, and I'm on pinterest and wanelo, and I've dabbled with instagram. Perhaps its time to try something new.

Re: Getting discouraged

Insomnia caused by dolls ! ... Don't we all know the feeling ! :)

Hello again Olga,

I am finding myself discouraged by the fact that I don't have enough time to work on my dolls. I have two in the making since early june and just can't find the time to finish them !!!! Summer has always been a bit slow for dollmaking... to much to do outside. But It's a 3 days week end here in Quebec and I have reserved all my time to work on the dolls. Let's hope I can finish one.

It's true that pictures in the making can be almost more interesting then the final result. Sewing objects and fabric can be quit interesting and imaginative. It also creates anxiousness to finally see the end result.

Their is a Meet and greet tread that is nice if you want to get to know more about some of the team members and also tell us more about yourself. So don't be shy to talk all you want ! ;)
