My cousin asked me to make a round tablecloth for her using 10 cotton thread. Her table is 34" across. Does anyone have any pattern or a website? I can't seem to find any. I took a round baby blanket and made it with 10 cotton thread but the middle doesn't lay flat. Not sure what I did wrong other than changed the stitch from double crochet to treble.
If you changed the stitch from double to treble, that will affect the outside circumfirence of each row and thus possibly make it ripple a bit, the reason being is that the treble stitch is taller than the double.
I thought that might be the problem, since I never had that happen before.
I did look on crochetpattercentral.com printed off one but not sure I like it. Maybe I will put that project on the back burner for a little, it is beginning to get to me.
Not sure if it would work with trebles... maybe try starting off with irregular increases? I do get a ruffle sometimes without staggering the increases (e.g.: 2 trbl, 1 trb in next 3, 2 trb, etc)
Although not a free site, Cylinda at Crochet Memories has some beautiful thread patterns, and does have a few for round table cloths: http://crochetmemories.com
