Walmart brought it back yah so is anyone thinking of having some kind of layaway action in their shop?

Re: Layaway

I wouln't mind doing some sort of layaway if I was asked about it. In the past I have reserved items in my shop for someone to buy later and I've also had someone who wanted something but didn't want to pay for it all at once so I did work with them for a payment plan. Of corse in both situations I didn't send them the order until it was all paid for.

If I were to do layaway I think I'd have to put in my policies somewhere about how long I'd keep the item on layaway & how long they'd have to pay for the item & if they didn't pay for it after so many days I'd cancel the sale.

Re: Layaway

I've been offering layaway since I started my shop and its been extremely successful!

Here's how I handle layaways
www.etsy.com/shop/crochetgal/policy

Basic terms are 50% down - nonrefundable to hold the item. The balance must be paid off within one month (unless prior arrangements have been made) or the entire payment will be forfeited. I prefer to set it up with no more than three additional payments but this is negotiable. Once the item is completely paid for, it will be shipped. There is a 5% additional charge for layaways. Should you wish to use the layaway plan, contact me before making the purchase so that layaway payment dates can be arranged. The minimum purchase amount on a layaway is $100.
