How to you encourage other members to participate in these threads? It seems to be the same few over and over.

I used to start a monthly chat thread for the team, but unfortunately they got buried in all the promo threads.

So I stopped.

Most people seem to think that people will actually click on the items posted in all the promo threads on Etsy but if my stats are any indication, I get less than 1% of my views from teams.

I wonder, do the promo teams with a wide variety of shops fare better with the promos? I've never understood trying to promote to team mates who do the same thing you do. I mean, yes, some threads are public for non-teamies to see, but how many people really check out promo threads in teams they don't belong to?
I'll have to try to join this team using my other account, I don't often visit teams on this account. :(

This seems like a promoting team sometimes with hardly any convos. I have been knitting and crocheting more actively for about a year and have purchased a second hand knitting machine. Its about getting people interested in woollen pieces I suppose, I knit with all sorts of fabrics.

It's pretty much a norm to expect about 10-15% of a group to actively participate and the rest read. ;-)

I joined cause I feel the need to see there are still handmade items here and enjoy seeing what others are creating. Luv Ravelry, too.

Sally, I do think a diverse promo group definately helps to get your items/shop noticed.

Diana I agree with you. I like to see what other people are creating none of my friends or family knit or crochet or sew. I stopped at a lovely yarn shop with a friend one day I was in heaven and she was so bored we do laugh about it.
