I see many successful shops seem to have a theme around their presentation or look and I am trying to figure out a suitable theme for my shop, has anyone else given this some thought or better still managed to execute?
I try to use the same type of backgrounds for each section within my shop, although sometimes it can be hard to do.
I work more on my own 'branding' outside of Etsy. That means using the same avatar and name everywhere I have a presence online. That has brought me much more success than 'theming' my shop.
I've had people see me at local art festivals and when they see the signs at my booth, they instantly recognize me from either some of the online groups that I take part in, or from being on Etsy.
I agree with brand recognition, a pretty shop makes me want to browse more and I would like a pretty / good looking shop, somebody once suggested my back ground is a bit drab and am thinking of the white backgrounds as an alternative.
I do business cards with an example of my work too. White backgrounds are very popular for online sales so it might be an idea for you too, see what works for you.
Hi Francie! You have some awesome items in your shop! But yes I do think your backgrounds are too busy and make your goodies harder to see! I'd suggest something plainer behind them so they really jump off the page :) Very cute stuff xx
