Cases against Seller...

I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a way to mention to Etsy about people opening cases against items they bought that they shouldn't open those cases.

I had a client open a case against me on an item that went in the mail today. Client was concerned they hadn't received it yet.

It clearly states in my shop policies and every item that items take 2-3 weeks for creation and delivery. I am still well within my window to send Client the item. So client shouldn't have opened a case against me.

I know with Amazon.com if an item is expected to be received within a certain window then buyers cannot open cases until that window is closed. It's not fair to the seller to receive negative stuff when they haven't done anything wrong.

I didn't know about the case until after I put the item in the mail so now I can't get tracking to close the case. It's now up to the buyer to close the case. If they don't close the case I get reported.

This happen to anyone else? What did you do?

Re: Cases against Seller...

I think I've read in the forums about sellers who have gotten cases opened against them by buyers who thought this was just a way to let the seller know they hadn't gotten the item yet.
There've been requests for Etsy to *not* make it so easy to open a case, or to clearly state just what this actually does.
I am sorry you have had this happen, and hope it all works out for you.
