Firstly thanks for adding a report just to see direct checkout orders. I am able to sort my csv files myself, but can see the added value for sellers. So thank you! I appreciate that progress is being made. Now here is the problem with direct checkout payments and book keeping, and a few ways that could help solve this....
When entering payments received in a book keeping program ( or spread sheets) I have to receive money for each sale. So I need to know which sales (order numbers) go with each deposit to my bank account from etsy, in order to make everything equal out. There is currently not a way to see this without clicking through 10 at a time in my order history on the shop payment page.... Even then the sale below the deposit line item is not always included in the transferred deposit - so i must continue to click back until i can find when my balance is equal to the amount deposited.
I can see two way to help sellers through this....
#1: Add a line item into our downloadable csv files for etsy deposits as well as a column for direct checkout running balance. (this would also help people who take more than one deposit per week)
#2: Make a cutoff for deposits at a certain time for each week; (example: all DC sales that go through before midnight EST on sundays will be available for automatic deposit) that way there is a line in the sand for order cuttoffs in the deposit amounts that can be quickly realized. Because currently it happens in the middle of a day and is way to hard to keep track of and to balance.
I would be happy to talk more about this, as I have moved from my DIY book keeping (some really messy spreadsheets) and into quick books, I have a friend who is helping me with my books, and right now she feels like it may be best to turn direct checkout off.
