Couldn't figure out why my money wasn't being deposited in my bank. After a little research, discovered I was supposed to respond when test deposit was made. If you are having this problem, there is a place where you enter the amounts deposited. This is so Etsy knows it went to the right place.

Hi everyone,
If you've signed up in the past 3 weeks, we are no longer requiring you to verify your small deposits. We continue to do a small deposit to verify on our end that the bank account is input correctly and that your bank accept deposits, but you don't need to do anything with this. If the bank account number is input incorrectly and the small deposit bounces back, you'll receive a note from us soon to reinput your bank, but if all goes well, no action is required from you at all.

Thanks for the heads up on this. Where is this place that I enter the amounts? Is it somewhere here on etsy?

When I inquired about what I needed to do, when I first signed up, I was told I didn't need to do a thing??? That it was all done for me. I wonder if I should look into the test deposit thing you are talking about?

They are running two types of verification. One you have to enter amounts, one you don't.

I believe if you need to enter amounts --if you click on your shop payment account there will be something indicating on the upper right hand side that you need to enter deposits. A link I think.

I'm not sure if they are indicating which type of verification a user needs to go through when they sign up or if one has to sort it out for themselves.

I signed up for DC on Aug. 30, and don't see any tiny deposits on my banking site yet. How long does it take to show up? Should I be looking into this?

Beth, it takes a few days, up to a week, so with the holiday you should see them later in the week

OK, thanks so much, Lauren! Just wanted to make sure I shouldn't be investigating this, and further delaying getting paid!

Well, I joined DC and just saw the "little deposit" they made into my bank account but for the life of me I can't find out where to put that information - the amount they deposited? Does anyone know? I searched my shop payment account page to no avail.... help!

thanks!

Mary,
If you need to enter the deposit amounts there should be a link on the top right hand side of the page in your shop payments account.

If there is no link there then you should already be verified. Some users don't have to enter deposit amounts.

You could also convo one of the team leaders directly for help if you are having trouble getting your account verified.

If you can't find a link, and got the deposits you may be one that doesn't have to enter the deposit amounts.

Don't remember how i found it, Didn't take a lot of research. It was either a notice in my shop payment account or I found it in the information about DC. Wasn't hard, so anyone should be able to find it.

Well, I looked in the "shop payment account" and couldn't find anything so, I guess I don't need to worry about any deposits. I'm creating a shipping label tomorrow and if there's anything to worry about I will find out soon enough. I expect things to go smoothly and the money from my sale to be in my bank, once I mark the item as shipped.

I wonder why some people have to do that deposit thing???

ohmama - it won't just magically be in your bank account once you mark it shipped. It will be sent for deposit on Monday evening (this week Tuesday because of the holiday?) and then depends upon how long it takes for your bank to acknowledge the deposit. Anywhere from 2-5 days usually.

I believe there is also a link to the verification page in the email etsy sends about adding your bank account...

And once you initially set DC up, I highly recommend turning it off until your account has been verified (the first hold is ten days after your account is added for security reasons) After that ten days turn it back on and you won't be frustrated by money sitting in your shop payment account that you are not allowed to transfer to your bank.

I signed up for DC late on Thursday my time (early Friday Etsy time). I checked my online banking yesterday, but there's no test deposit yet. Guess that was because of the weekend?

If I am remembering correctly the entering the amounts of the two small deposits is the "standard" way. The not having to enter deposits is a test they are running.

@Tana--It takes 2-4 days to see the test deposits (depends on how your bank does things, I think). With today being the holiday it may take a little longer than that.

I can wait for the bank to give me the $, no problem. I requested from etsy that the 10 days bank verification time be waved and it was approved so I don't have that to worry about that dragging it out longer.
