Question about "payment processing"...

I sold something on August 30th and the customer used direct checkout. I received this email from Etsy:

Hi Samantha Martin,
We wanted to let you know that you have a pending sale of 1 item.

We're still processing your order and will send you a confirmation email as soon as it's ready.

Do not ship this order until it's finished processing.

**
I haven't received anything else and it will let me mark the order as shipped. I have not had this happen before and can't figure out what it means or what to do.

Ideas? Suggestions?

Re: Question about "payment processing"...

It sounds like etsy is trying to verify the buyers credit card information and let you know if it is good so you can ship. I would not ship the item till you get the all clear on it. Email etsy support for attention on that sale.

Re: Question about "payment processing"...

I agree with Mary, I would also write the customer to let them know, so they can be aware of why it may take longer than usual for you to ship the item. I know some people have talked about the customers being able to cancel the order on their end through Etsy with a DC payment, so letting them know there is a hangup beyond your control can stop them from doing that.
