Issue Immediate Refund from DC or wait?

I just received a payment from a customer but right after that she wrote a note telling me to cancel. Because it was direct checkout is there a certain amount of time to wait or can I refund her money right away? I thought that I don't get the money myself until about five days later anyway.

Why do I need to wait 24 hours to cancel or refund some Direct Checkout orders in my shop?

For Direct Checkout orders where the buyer has paid in a currency other than United States dollars (USD), there is a 24 hour waiting period before a refund or cancellation can occur. This is because non-USD orders currently take a full day to process and settle with credit card companies and banks.

We hope to reduce this delay in the future.

For USA I believe you can refund her money right away.
