How to issue shipping cost refund?

With an international order for multiple items, I don't always know the exact shipping until I create the items and weigh to ship. Sometimes I have to issue a refund for overpayment, which is straightforward on other payment systems, but I can't figure how to do that on Etsy Direct Checkout. Please help, thanks, Gustys

Hi there!

You can issue a direct checkout refund by clicking Your Shop > Sold Orders. Click to view the receipt. Then select Manage Order > Issue a refund.

I did just that a couple days ago - it's really quite easy & self-explanatory....just remember, you can always click "cancel" if you get into a position you didn't mean to be in or on a screen that doesn't show what you need.

So is it common practice to refund the extra fee if shipping doesn't match your estimate?

I would if it was more than a dollar difference Laurie. People don't like to be overcharged for shipping.
