How long does it take for customer to get refund?

I refunded a customer's return yesterday (6/15) and she says the refund isn't showing back on her card yet. Does anyone know when her refund will show up? Thank you!

for most banks, 3-5 days is standard. I'd have her wait a few more days.

At what point should a seller be contacting Etsy about a DC refund that hasn't shown up yet?

What you might want to do is have your customer contact their bank to see if the refund has been initiated. The bank should be able to see that the process has been started after a few days, even if it's not to the point where the customer sees it. (I only know this because I'm going through it with another site)

That is pretty standard. Banks never show the refunds right away, has nothing to do with etsy.

Thanks Lauren, I also told her it's the same as when she returns something to a regular store and it takes time for the return to show. Hopefully, she will be satisfied with my answer.

You are all correct that 3-5 days is the standard but may depend on the buyer's credit card issuer. I would say that if a week passes, she could contact Etsy directly, but we haven't seen any issues of refunds not getting the buyer.

This is an older conversation I see. One thing I learned from my first refund ever is that even though you have "Refunded" the purchase, you must than "Cancel Transaction." I had a transaction refunded for about two weeks and seller never got refund. I searched around and had to then cancel the transaction for it to go through. The terminology used on Etsy [in this area] is not indicative of the action sought.
