First Class international large envelope?

I am mailing a package to S. Korea and want to use international first class large envelope because it is flat and 3 oz and I am not seeing that option anyplace? I see international package which is $8 +(and the large envelope is like $3.75 for the same package? ) Is that option just not available?

Re: First Class international large envelope?

clarification..I know first class large envelope is $3.75..I just don't see that option on the drop down menu. I guess I need to buy the label elsewhere.

Re: First Class international large envelope?

Julia, I'd just throw stamps on it. I have a stash of stamps just for that purpose. The envelope rate doesn't include tracking anyway, and since an envelope can get away without having a customs form, there's no reason you can just throw it into your mailbox with stamps.

I don't think the option is available on Etsy, unfortunately.
I've been using stamps.com but it's not free. I'm not really sure what to do either, I don't want to keep paying for stamps.com!

@Thais: You can just use regular postage stamps and put it in your mailbox with your regular pick-up.

Re: First Class international large envelope?

I shipped a packaged (large envelope) using USPS in July, first class international with a custom form... still hasn't arrived at its destination. Does it normally take this long... Did any of you have the same issue?

Re: First Class international large envelope?

I shipped large 10x14 stiff envelopes to Taiwan and Germany, 3-6 oz. Used USPS first class, online... can't remember if it was thru etsy, paypal, or usps.c om, but they are all the same. Postage came out to approx 8.00. Customs info is directy on the postage. Took 12-14 days.

Re: First Class international large envelope?

The price difference has to do with whether the package is too stiff to fold, which would change the rate to first class package, not envelope, rate.

Re: First Class international large envelope?

Hey Julia,

I was notified by the recipient that the package arrived. Took a month but I'm glad it arrived safely.

I was worried because when I tracked the package it had left the sorting facility the next day... since then there was no new update. Whoever received the package never scanned the customs # so I had no clew where it was.

Re: First Class international large envelope?

USPS are a strange group. There online rates are so confusing. I wanted to send a little 2oz something to my friend overseas, and checked it online. It came out $3.25. Since it was small it could fit in an envelope. I went to the post office to mail it and asked the guy there by the to tell me how much it is. He weighed it and says it will cost $9.95. Because its considered a package!! Are they trying to make some money here??
