Commissioned Items

Some of my items are made-to-order, and I require a deposit before beginning work. I'm new to DC, so can anyone give me suggestions on how to handle a deposit for me to begin work on a commissioned piece?

Thanks, loads
Cathleen

Re: Commissioned Items

Hi Cathleen,
Since Etsy has changed the hold times for Direct Deposit to be the day after the purchase is made, you would be able to get the deposit within a couple of days, but I believe any other payments that need to be made would have to be thru Paypal invoices or maybe a phone call to run a credit card thru square or similar.
Direct Checkout does not have the option to invoice someone for additional payments.

I hope that helps!

Re: Commissioned Items

Yep what Paige said is correct. If you meet the requriements to have the shipping marked (and if you do there should be a big blue banner when you click on My shop) then the funds for the full amount of the purchase will be available in your shop account the day after the purchase.

If your customer wants to do a down payment and final payment then you still need to sell the item for full amount, but issue invoices via paypal.
