Anyone else sell large furniture that requires freight shipping??

I'm wondering how the new rule about needing to ship before Etsy releases the direct checkout funds can apply to large shipments that have to go by truck. If you are a seller that ships these types of items, you know it can take weeks for the trucker to schedule your pick up and very few truckers provide tracking numbers. Yes, there are big shippers that will pick up faster (we've used them and they've destroyed our pieces! multiple times) but we prefer the slower, blanket wrap guys who are so much gentler. I can see some big problems if Etsy holds not only our money ... but our shipping fees (which is high on freight shipped items). Any thoughts on this type of item?

The lag time is something to consider when using Direct Checkout. My situation is not the same as yours, but I do mostly custom work. This time of year especially for bridal parties, 4-8 pairs of cufflinks, etc can take 2-3 weeks to complete.

So, I don't get paid either for a few weeks. Each order runs in the hundreds of dollars. Once I got started with DC though, I'm always getting funds on Monday.

I know the system is not for everyone, but I like it and my cusotmers choose to use it. I'm adjusting.
