Admin, question please about my first Direct Checkout order!

I got my first Direct Checkout order. No email from Etsy re the payment, but it shows in my Shop Payment Account with the note "Ship these items to receive payment ."

So is it ok to go ahead and ship right away? Or might my order be getting "processed" and should I wait to hear something from Etsy before I ship?

I ask because of Camilla's statement in another thread http://www.etsy.com/teams/11969/direct-checkout/discuss/10786764/

"When an order is "processing," Etsy notifies the sellers and asks you not to ship an item until the order is confirmed. If Etsy does not confirm the order, it becomes canceled and the item is put back up for sale. Emails regarding the processing nature of the order as well as it's cancelation are sent to you. At no point in that process would it appear that the order is ready to ship or confirmed."

Help! I'm leaving on vacation in two days and need to know how to proceed!

How do I know if Etsy has "confirmed" the order, and payment is A-ok?

I addressed this to Admin because of Camilla's statement, but would love an answer from anyone who knows!

I don't want to ship and then get a notice from Etsy that the order is in "processing!" Would that notice come from Etsy right away?

On my Shop Payment Account page it says "Ship these items to receive payment."

On the Order it says "Paid" and also "Paid with a Credit Card."

In another thread someone said there needs to be a check mark by the word Paid. I don't see a check mark anywhere. Do I need to wait for a check mark before it's safe to ship?

Ok. I found a check mark next to "Paid" on my Sold Orders page. So there are three places to look--ha!

So it appears I'm ok to ship, which I'll do later today.

I'll check back here later today, before I ship, just in case there's something else I should know!

Helen it's OK to ship your order. I don't know why you didn't get an email from Etsy, but if the item is marked paid you should ship it. And don't forget to mark it "shipped".

Helen, when there is a DC payment you don't receive a second email about the payment like you do from paypal. If there is a problem or the order is processing, then the original sale email says so. Congrats on your first DC sale!

Hi Helen,

Congrats on your first DC sale! You are okay to go ahead and ship the order. You should be receiving emails from Etsy when you have a sale, regardless of the payment method. If you aren't receiving these emails, you might want to check your spam box or email setting to make sure you receive anything from transactions@etsy.com.

If the order is taking longer than normally to process, you won't see it in your Sold Orders until it has been completed. Once a DC order appears in your Sold Orders, this means that the payment has been confirmed and everything is all set.
