Printer and scanner recommendations?

I'm finally ready to move from printing my art prints with a 3rd party vendor to printing them myself: any recommendations for:

1) A printer? Ideally, I should be able to print as large as 11x17, but I'm also considering just a great 8.5x11 printer... I sell Archival Prints of my watercolors, so great color reproduction is important.

2) Also looking for a largish flatbed scanner: something that is larger than what comes with the 'all in one" printer/fax sort of thing.

All input welcome, and thanks in advance!

Re: Printer and scanner recommendations?

Hi Suhita! As an illustrator and designer, I print all my art prints on an Epson Stylus Photo R1900 with ultrachrome inks and it works absolutely brilliantly. This printer can take 8.5x11 as well as rolls of paper upto 12" in width. You might want to check it out. I have friends that use the same printer as well and they print out cards and all sorts of other materials that they sell at handmade craft fairs.

As for a scanner, I would go with an Epson again.

Hope this helps!

cheers,
milusha
