Photoshop HELP!

I've been having issues with Photoshop for a while now- it seems like my verson is 'eating' my creations and leaving behind corupt files in it's place. I can save anything as a PSD or PNG file and I'm fine, but as soon as I click JPEG it gobbles up my files! I'm at the end of my rope- I've been saving my files as much larger PNG files and converting then to JPEG with a file converter- but that leave me with HUGE JPEG files! Any ideas or suggestions? I'm stuck with posting more of my scrapbook papers that I've designed because the files I have right now are so darn big that it's crazy to have 4 or 5 zip folders for people to download.

Anybody else have this issue? Any thoughts or solutions for me?

Re: Photoshop HELP!

I've never heard of that before but it sounds like your program got corrupted. I would try re-installing photoshop to your computer.

I hope that helps- it sounds very painful!

Re: Photoshop HELP!

Have you tried deleting your preferences file? Often it can get corrupt.

Re: Photoshop HELP!

Thanks! I see a couple of updates for my very (VERY) old version- I'm saving up my pennies and all the gift cards I get from work at a University to buy the new version (because after a 1 or 2 sweatshirts what else can you really buy from an univeristy bookstore?!?!! ) Hopefully I'll still get my end of year 'bonus' and be able to buy it this 4th of July!

Re: Photoshop HELP!

You mentioned replacing your old version.

Photoshop CS6 will be the last released version on 'disk'.
You can now subscribe to the CC version, which is cloud based software.
If you are a student, you may be able to get a discounted rate.
You may find this a cheaper option in the short term.
Personally I prefer a 'perpetual license', but this may work for you.

Re: Photoshop HELP!

Definitely look into student/teacher discounts. They will save you a ton of money. Verification takes a couple days but well worth it.
