Need help with your tags and titles?

I have found that getting found on Etsy takes lots of hard work.

Tags and titles are really really important for Etsy search.

Once you master getting your tags and titles right then you should see an increase in views and sales.

A couple of things I have learned is to make sure that the words you use in your title should also match your tags. Even having the words in your description helps too.
Always use search terms that a customer would use.

Using Etsy search type in Digital and see what comes up on the drop down list. Add those keywords to your tags and title.

It takes some work but it is well worth the results.

Hi Claudia! Thanks so much for your post. I agree that something is different for search. It seems to be always changing. I try and keep up on tags and titles too. I have changed my tactic a little bit by putting in keywords that my images might be used for like decoupage paper. Decoupage is a hot craft right now and people are looking for decoupage paper. That has definitely brought in more sales for me. I would think about what could people use my art for and put in those keywords and see how that works out. I would fill up the title space using every character if you can with the most important keywords at the beginning. Happy Sales.

Hi Cutezie! I just had a look at your shop and a few issues I see regarding tags and titles are easily fixed. Firstly when doing tags and titles, think like a buyer would. What would they be searching for if they wanted to buy Christmas Digital Paper? Most people would not search for your shop name. They would not know to search for that. They would search for christmas digital paper, winter paper, baby first christmas and so on. Always make sure your tags and titles match. Abbreviated tags will not be found in search.

So having bab fir chri pap, cut bab bo pap, bab dig pap, dig dig chri pap, comm use ok, will not work at all. You can test this out by going to the Etsy search bar and typing it in. You will get no results. You will want to use the full words. Commercial Use, baby first christmas, and so on. If some of the words will not fit put them in another tag. So remember to think like a buyer. Ask your friends and family what they would search for and use full words in your tags. Make sure tags and titles match. This will fix the problem you are having. Hi everyone!

My first shop opened up earlier this week and I feel that I might need some help with my titles and tags.

I mirrored the title style of some successful shops I've seen, but I'm not too sure it's working. A lot of other digital shop owners seem to be titling their listings with a string of words that look like tags, and I followed their lead.

Should I take a different approach?

I have been open just a few months. I have made a few sales but I am struggling to get seen. I have a good ratio of favourites to views (so those who view my items are liking it, which is good!) I design a wide range of digital goods but most popular for me is SVG cut files for vinyl cutting machines. I'm struggling with ideas for long tail keywords! Any help appreciated!
