Who is REALLY playing God?

Dear Reader,

For 39 years, nine unelected men and women on the Supreme Court have played God with innocent human life.

They have invented laws that condemned to painful deaths without trial more than 56 million babies for the crime of being "inconvenient."

In 1973, the U.S. Supreme Court's Roe v. Wade ruling forced abortion-on-demand down our nation's throat.

In the past, many in the pro-life movement have felt limited to protecting a life here and there -- passing some limited law to slightly control abortion in the more outrageous cases.

But some pro-lifers always seem to tiptoe around the Supreme Court, hoping they won't be offended.

Now the time to grovel before the Supreme Court is over.

Working from what the Supreme Court ruled in Roe v. Wade, pro-life lawmakers can pass a Life at Conception Act and end abortion using the Constitution instead of amending it.

You see, while the national media has talked a lot about the impact of economic issues on this past election, the untold story is just how well pro-life candidates did.

So it is vital every Member of Congress be put on record.

A Life at Conception Act declares unborn children "persons" as defined by the 14th Amendment to the Constitution, entitled to legal protection.

This is the one thing the Supreme Court admitted in Roe v. Wade that would cause the case for legal abortion to "collapse."

When the Supreme Court handed down its now-infamous Roe v. Wade decision, it did so based on a new, previously undefined "right of privacy" which it "discovered" in so-called "emanations" of "penumbrae" of the Constitution.

Of course, as constitutional law it was a disaster.

But never once did the Supreme Court declare abortion itself to be a constitutional right.

Instead the Supreme Court said:

"We need not resolve the difficult question of when life begins . . . the judiciary at this point in the development of man's knowledge is not in a position to speculate as to the answer."

Then the High Court made a key admission:

"If this suggestion of personhood is established, the appellant's case [i.e., "Roe" who sought an abortion], of course, collapses, for the fetus' right to life is then guaranteed specifically by the [14th] Amendment."

The fact is, the 14th Amendment couldn't be clearer:

". . . nor shall any state deprive any person of life, liberty or property, without due process of law, nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the law."

Furthermore, the 14th Amendment says:

"Congress shall have power to enforce, by appropriate legislation, the provisions of this article."

That's exactly what a Life at Conception Act would do.

But this simple, logical and obviously right legislation will not become law without a fight.

By turning up the heat through a massive, national, grass-roots campaign in this session of Congress, one of two things will happen.

If you and other pro-life activists pour on enough pressure, pro-lifers can force politicians from both parties who were elected on pro-life platforms to make good on their promises and ultimately win passage of this bill.

But even if a Life at Conception Act doesn't pass immediately, the public attention will send another crew of radical abortionists down to defeat in the next election.

That's why it's so critical to work to get a vote on the Life at Conception Act, legislation that would reverse Roe v. Wade.

so, they feel they have the right to determine the point at which a legal life begins, yet others don't?



i can see this opening up a clusterf**k of legal battles if passed.

if you apply all legal rights to an embryo - where does it stop?

will child support begin at conception? holy crap - fathers get caught up paying for children AFTER birth that are later proven to not even be theirs, but because of marriage or state laws they are obligated...

public assistance? at what point will a mother qualify for an increase in public aide, beyond the standard medicaid health care and benefits? get bumped up the list on section 8 housing because someone gets pregnant?

one person filing child abuse against a pregnant woman because they disagree with how she handles her health (let's leave this at difference of opinion rather than obvious abuses such as addict/alcoholic/etc)

will a convicted attacker then have legal right to block a victims ability to make a choice to have an abortion?


the irony of this stance is head scratching at best...they want to deny people choice to control their own lives and destinies, while at the same time attacking others by claiming the same...

Seriously. Shouldnt saving a womans life be between her, her already born children, her husband, her parents, her doctor?
We on both sides can agree that this is an over reach. Cant we?
Please say we can. I would think that in the case of an abortion under these circumstances, it would be considered an act of self defense. What are the legal ramifications of snuffing out a murderous robber who broke into your home. Its your life you are defending. Same deal, right? Why should you be forced to let a fetus kill you?
Why should your family suffer the loss of YOU.



Merely a day after the Virginia Legislature passed two anti-abortion bills, Iowa House Republicans decided to do the same on Wednesday.

Introduced by Republican State Rep. Kim Pearson, House File 2298 outlaws abortion entirely, even in cases of rape and when the life of the mother is in jeopardy.

In other words, if a woman is raped in Iowa, she will be forced by the state government to carry any pregnancy to full term or face life in prison. And if a pregnant woman needs an abortion to save her life, she can either face life in prison by asking her doctor to perform the life saving procedure or die on the hospital table.

i just can't believe they can't see the hypocracy of their stance...

'we don't want the government to sanction a woman's right to chose, but we do want them to deny them any right to do so'...

how is an bill permitting free choice limiting or infringing on the rights of others who don't agree with the issue the bill is permitting? it's not like they are being forced to have abortions or being denied the right to feel negatively about it.

that stance always terrifies me...they are basically saying that the life of the existing human has less value than the life of the unborn - who has yet to establish a viable impact (i know, there is an emotional impact) in the world nor has relationships and loved ones who want them to continue existing.

Every day there is some new outrageous attack on women by the GOP.
Its also upsetting to see the people so opposed to abortion inflicting laws on us that will cause a greater need for abortions.
Its the party of scared misogynistic weenie waving white guys.
The fact that they are jailing women for having a bodily function IE miscarriage is so draconian. So anti women. So burning us at the stake.

Republican women need to clean up their party. This is not a nation of sharia law. Again. Its the same bull. Point a finger at Obama, yell Sharia law and then pass these restrictive religious based laws that punish women for being women.

The desire to deny women access to affordable birth control pill is so short sighted. There are real health reasons to prescribe it. Its not just to prevent pregnancy. In a lot of cases it is to PRESERVE a womans ability to get pregnant.

Ranking committee member Elijah Cummings (D-MD) had asked Issa to include a female witness at the hearing, but the Chairman refused, arguing that “As the hearing is not about reproductive rights and contraception but instead about the Administration’s actions as they relate to freedom of religion and conscience, he believes that Ms. Fluke is not an appropriate witness.”

i still think if religion organizations want to be political, start taking away all of those tax exemptions and all the perks...they simply want their cake and eat it too...

And those invasive vaginal sonograms.
There is no medical reason to do that. In any other country, forcing objects into body cavities against a persons will with the intent to frighten, humiliate, and "educate" a person would be seen by us as a torture technique.

They are not required to actually look at the sonogram so what purpose does this serve? The fun part is that the woman has to pay for the privilege of being shamed.

In Texas, Governor Rick Perry and his anti-women’s health cronies are putting their own ideological agendas before women’s health. And they are going to breathtaking lengths to achieve it.

Yesterday, the Texas Health and Human Services commissioner signed a rule that would ban Planned Parenthood health centers from being compensated for providing women’s health care through the Medicaid Women’s Health Program. And, amazingly, 90 cents of every dollar of reimbursement would be from the federal government, not the State of Texas. As a result, nearly 130,000 women will lose access to affordable care. Worse, it will literally result in the end of the entire Medicaid Women’s Health Program in Texas. This is, in a word, unacceptable.

For many women, this is their only source of health care. These health centers are where many low-income women turn for lifesaving cancer screenings, birth control, and other preventive exams. And now they will have nowhere to go.

As if this weren’t bad enough, the decision comes on the heels of a new budget that slashed funding for women’s health by two-thirds. So, in addition to the 180,000 women this yearwho already have been denied access to affordable care under the new Texas budget, Governor Perry thinks so little of providing care that he’s willing to shut down the entire program because of his opposition to abortion. In the last six months, Perry will have cut off access to health care for nearly half a million women with his decisions to slash and defund women’s health programs in the state.

We all know Texans like their football, but now they’re using women’s health as a political football – hundreds of thousands of women are suffering the consequences.

To be clear, the rule isn’t even legal. The federal government, the primary funder of this program requires that Medicaid patients be able to go to the provider of their choice, but the new rule designed by Perry and his anti-women’s health allies will disqualify providers like Planned Parenthood and thus, directly violate federal law. They are willing to throw out the entire state Medicaid program to advance their own agenda.

Unless these politicians can broker a deal in the upcoming weeks, on March 14th the Texas Women’s Health Program will be effectively dismantled.

When you consider the fact that more than one-quarter of Texas women are uninsured and the “Lone Star State” has the third highest rate of cervical cancer in the country, it’s clear women’s health is one of the last things on Perry’s agenda. Once again, he’s putting politics before women’s health. These preventive screenings and affordable health centers matter, but out-of touch anti-women’s, health politicians like Perry don’t seem to care at all.

It’s time to tell these politicians stop messing with women’s health.

Santorum's biggest financial backer Foster Friess made the following comment: “You know, back in my days, they’d use Bayer aspirin for contraceptives,” Friess said on MSNBC. “The gals put it between their knees, and it wasn’t that costly.”

He is pumping insane amounts of money into the state races. Where they are clearly working hard to bring down women's rights on a state level (among other things on their right wing agendas).
